Liberty University announces investigation into Falwell Jr.


Liberty University announced Monday that it is opening an independent investigation into the tenure of its former president Jerry Falwell Jr. after his departure last week.The Evangelical University School Board said in a version that he hired an outside company to investigate “all facets of the operations of the University of Liberty” under the direction of the former president. He said he wanted to learn “the consequences of a lack of spiritual stewardship”.

The investigation into Falwell’s nearly 13-year tenure will include reviews of financial, real estate and legal matters, the council said.

The announcement comes after Falwell officially resigned last week.
