Asked what more his government will do to protect and promote French, Legault noted that his Minister for the French Language, Simon Jolin-Barrette, is already working on a new plan to strengthen the Charter of the French Language, which will be filed “soon. ”
Stuck at home, Legault will be absent this very week with the sitting legislature. He will be replaced at any COVID-19 press conference by Deputy Prime Minister Geneviève Guilbault.
Throughout the pandemic, the government has made a policy of never having Legault and Guilbault in the same room at the same time as a precautionary measure.
