Shots of the real squirrel showing off his spotted cock in the show’s park setting had been shown from the 2011 series two finale, when the show was on the BBC.

The cheeky chappy later got the chop – but is now back in animated form to promote the latest series on Channel 4.

Dwight McLean, 34, who spotted the ad at a bus stop in Hounslow, west London, said: “At the top of the ad, a squirrel is on display. Full frontal.

“He has his penis. He’s got his legs spread and you can see his testicles because they’re so big.

The care assistant added, “It doesn’t go with the Bake Off theme. It’s something pornographic. His penis is protruding and circumcised.

They have to change it because it is not very appropriate. ”

It was replaced with a pheasant for the 2016 series, which drew mixed reactions from the opening show’s 10.4 million viewers.

Bake Off was transferred to Channel 4 in 2017.

A Channel 4 spokesperson said: “The squirrel in the poster is a fair and anatomically accurate likeness of the squirrel that appeared on the show and that fans of Great British Bake Off will fondly remember.
