“You are going to make me cry again. This is really not the case [hit me yet]. I got very, very emotional this morning, ”Kris told Seacrest, whose production company created“ KUWTK ”.
“Funny, when we spoke yesterday I had a little bit of my mind and thought I was really strong. And, you know, it’s the right decision, ”she continued. “Today I wake up and think about the first time you and I were doing an on-air interview, and I was so excited and nervous. “
According to Kris, the morning after their announcement went public, she shared an emotional moment with Khloe and Kim.
“I woke up and I was in the gym at age 5 with Khloé and Kim and we just sat there and looked at each other and we were like, ‘Whoa, what a trick,’ Kris recalls. “It was all morning. “
Although Kris hasn’t revealed a specific reason why they decided to step away from the long E! series, she noted that now is “the right time” for the family to take a break and think about the next steps in her career.
“I think number 20 was sounding great until 2020, but number 20 just seemed like a good time for us to take a minute and breathe and everyone’s slowing down a bit,” she explained. “Don’t slow down professionally, you just know what our next steps are. We had an amazing race and we are so grateful for every moment and for everyone we work with. “
Kris went on to reveal which family member “hasn’t stopped crying” since they made the announcement.
“We had to tell the crew yesterday so we were all crying,” she explained. “But I think Khloe… is probably the one taking the hardest part and hasn’t really stopped crying since we announced her.” She was so sweet and just moved about it.
The family announced their decision in a joint statement on Tuesday:
“It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’. After what will be 14 years, 20 seasons, hundreds of episodes and several spinoff shows, we have decided as a family to end this very special journey, ”the family wrote in a group statement. “We are more than grateful to all of you who have watched us all these years – through the good times, the bad times, the happiness, the tears and the many relationships and children. We will forever cherish the wonderful memories and countless people we have met along the way.
“Thank you to the thousands of individuals and companies who were part of this experience and above all, a special thank you to Ryan Seacrest for believing in us, E! to be our partner and our Bunim / Murray production team who have spent countless hours filming our lives, ”the statement continued. Our final season will air early next year in 2021. We love you! “
