Blue Jays 7 Yankees 10
Well the third game is a lot closer than the first two games.
There have been a lot of Yankees home runs. A lot. The Yankees seem to have that swing down to smooth the ball over to the little porch to the left.
Julian Merryweather “opened” and managed not to abandon a homerun. But he wasn’t good, 2 hits, 2 walks, 2 earned. I was hoping he could do two innings but no luck.
Chase Anderson called and threw a very good second set. Then he gave up 5 home runs in the third, while only getting 2 outs. He abandoned three consecutive circuits on three courts.
It reminded me of a joke from my youth. What’s going on whoosh, crack, whoosh, crack, whoosh, crack. A pitcher descending towards the miners.
Wilmer Font finished the third set and got the fourth without scoring. Our MVP pitching of the series.
TJ Zeuch pitched 3 innings, giving up just 1 point, you guessed it, another home run. He allowed 3 hits, 3 goals with 3 strikeouts.
In attack, it was the spectacle of Lourdes Gurriel, with 4 hits, 2 homers, a double and a single. Danny Jansen had 3 singles.
We had a rally in the ninth, giving us some fun moments. . With an output:
Aroldis Chapman entered:
- Bo Bichette picked the house 2. 10-7, bringing the equalizer to home plate.
- Randal Grichuk struck off the withdrawal.
Teoscar Hernandez struck the ball out of the match. Hernandez was 0 for 5 with 4 strikeouts in his first comeback. It will take a few matches to regain his timing
Jay of the day: Lourdes (.124 WPA).
Suckage: Anderson (-.319) and Merryweather (-.140), Grichuk (-.111, 1 for 5) and Teoscar (-.093)
Matt Shoemaker can’t come back fast enough.
Tomorrow is double, in Philadelphia. The first game is at 4:00 am Eastern.

The series reminded me of this song, the chorus is “Burn this cabin down”. I think we should do this at Yankees Stadium, burn it to the ground.
