Is South Africa doing enough to fight xenophobia? | Africa


Migrants in South Africa face more and more attacks and the police are often indifferent to the issue.

This is the conclusion of a Human Rights Watch (HRW) report published a year after the launch of a national plan to fight xenophobia.

HRW has found many South Asian and African migrants living in fear.

Crowds destroyed businesses and homes owned by foreigners.

However, few perpetrators have been brought to justice.

So what does it take to ensure security and equality for all in the “rainbow nation”?
