Infection rate in New York remains below 1% for the entire month – CBS New York


ALBANY, NY (CBSNewYork) – The rate of coronavirus infections in New York state remained below 1% for a full month.Governor Andrew Cuomo announced the milestone on Monday.

“New Yorkers can help us keep this trend going by wearing masks, social distancing and washing their hands,” he said in a statement. “Our actions today are determining the infection rate tomorrow, so as Labor Day weekend continues, I urge everyone to be smart so that we don’t see a spike in the coming weeks.

On Sunday, only 0.08% of all tests came back positive. This means that out of more than 5,800 tests, 520 were positive.
