The ordeal left the man shaken and he said he had “never felt more embarrassed and humiliated” in his life.
The man says his wife asked him to pick up sanitary napkins on the way home, but while he was in the store, he faced his wife to make sure he was buying the right products.
He said, “I got a call from my wife when I was leaving work and she asked me to get her towels from the store.
“I asked her to text me with a picture of the ones she uses to make sure I have the right type.
“I manage to [the store] and I can’t find the kind she texted me so I FaceTimed her in the tablet aisle and showed her the section where her mark is to see if I could find another one.
“About 30 seconds later, a woman comes up to me and tells me that I am inappropriate and that she is going to report me. Notice my wife is on video with me all the time. I tell my wife to text me from a notepad that I could get for her and end the call.
“Just as my wife text me a man (store manager) and an employee come to me with the woman behind them and he asks me what I’m doing and he got a complaint that I behaving inappropriately. ”
The man said that despite the explanation for the situation, things got even worse.
“The woman then starts screaming that I was taking pictures of her and lying,” he said.
“I showed the manager my wife’s texts and told her I just wanted to get her towels and leave.
“The manger and the woman went to the front of the store and all the time she’s yelling at him that he has to call the police and get me arrested for being a pervert.
As the woman continued to scream, he said the sales assistant helped him find the item and he was able to continue on his way.
He added: “I paid for the towels and left.
“And when I got to the car, I cried. A crying adult man in his car.
“I have never felt more embarrassed and humiliated in my life. When I told my wife what had happened, she turned pale and kept apologizing for me.
