The Handmaid’s Tale sets up a very May-December wedding: Mckenna Grace (The Haunting of Hill House) will recur during season 4 of the Hulu drama as the teenage wife of a much older commander, our sister site reports Deadline.
Ms. Keyes de Grace is described as an “extremely intelligent” wife who “runs her farm and household with confidence. She has a rebellious and subversive streak, and is calm and pious on the outside with restlessness, even madness, on the inside, ”according to Deadline.
Production of the series was halted in mid-March, a few episodes away from season 4, due to the global coronavirus epidemic. Filming recently resumed two weeks ago in Toronto, Canada. (To find out what’s to come – including Elisabeth Moss’ directorial debut – check out TVLine’s Q&A with star Bradley Whitford.)
Grace’s other TV credits include Fuller House, Young Sheldon, Designated Survivor (as the daughter of President Kirkman), Once upon a time (as Young Emma Swan) and The young and the restless.
The Handmaid’s Tale is one of eight contenders for the Outstanding Drama Series at this Sunday’s Primetime Emmy Awards – though in TVLine’s annual poll it ranked last (with less than 5% of the vote) among shows readers believe that she will win.
