Four more cases of COVID-19 reported in Waterloo region


Death toll remains unchanged, but new patient admitted to hospital

Saturday marks a second day in a row that the daily count of COVID-19 cases is single-digit.Waterloo Region Public Health is reporting four new cases of COVID-19, compared to yesterday’s report in five.

There are now 1,680 cases of the virus reported since March, of which 1,416 (84%) are considered resolved.

Active cases decreased by five, with 144 cases considered active.

There have been no new deaths related to COVID-19 for more than a month, with that figure remaining at 120 for another day.

Hospitals in our region have admitted a new COVID-19 patient, the first in a long time.

There are now ten declared outbreaks in the region, including three daycares. The latest addition is an outbreak at Kitchener Collegiate Institute.

49,340 cases in total (435 new)
100 patients are currently hospitalized with the virus
42,507 resolved cases (86.2%)
3.76 million tests were performed
2,837 deaths (no new deaths)
