First new case of COVID-19 in a week in Sarnia-Lambton


Lambton Public Health reported its first new case of COVID-19 in a week on Saturday night.

The number of confirmed cases is now 344 with 317 recoveries and 25 deaths, leaving two active cases.

The age of positive cases in Sarnia-Lambton ranges from a low of 8% for those 0-19 years old to 22% for those 80 and over. Women represent 57% of cases and the geographical distribution is 69% in urban areas and 31% in rural areas.

The number of test results received has now exceeded 26,000 with 1.3 percent positive.

Bluewater Health reported in its weekly update Friday that there are no confirmed COVID patients in hospital and 28 with pending tests, including pre-surgical screening.
