Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti could make yet another major signing ahead of the summer transfer window closing with a move for a right-back being considered. The Blues have Jonjoe Kenny as competition for the aging Seamus Coleman after Scouser, 23, impressed on loan at Schalke last season.
Captain Coleman is 32 in October and has suffered from fitness issues in recent seasons.

Athletic claim Everton looked at both Colombian Santiago Arias of Atletico Madrid and underprivileged Manchester United defender Diogo Dalot.
Arias, 28, only made 14 La Liga appearances last season and has spent much of the campaign on the substitutes bench.
Former PSV ace Eindhoven only joined Atletico two years ago in a £ 11million deal, but Everton are eyeing the South American in a potential loan deal .
And a deal for Dalot would also be a loan deal, according to The Athletic. The Portuguese defender, signed by former United manager Jose Mourinho, struggled for a few minutes under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Still 21, the Portugal international only appeared four times in the Premier League last season, with injuries having also disrupted his time at Old Trafford so far.
It is claimed that Everton looked at both Arias and Dalot and like the two players.
If the Toffees are to make an approach for either defender, they will do so with a view to signing either duo on loan for the season.
United might be willing to sell former Porto Dalot for good as it was recently claimed that Solskjaer has doubts about his rate of work in training.
Dalot finds himself behind England’s £ 50million international Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Premier League minutes look limited for the foreseeable future.
Meanwhile, Everton boss Ancelotti may also be looking to sign a center-back before the window closes in just over two weeks.
Teenager Jarrad Branthwaite suffered an ankle injury against Salford at Goodison Park midweek, with left-back Lucas Digne expected to replace in the center half.

“Holgate is out and Jarrad we don’t know about his injury and how bad it is we have to watch tomorrow,” Ancelotti said after the game.
“There is a possibility of finding a central defender and I think we have to do it.
“The update from Holgate is he doesn’t need surgery so maybe he can recover sooner than usual but I think we can manage until Mason comes back with it. three central defenders without a problem. ”
Asked about the apparent interest of a loan for Chelsea defender Fikayo Tomori, Ancelotti added: “I am not talking about players who are not there”.
