Everton news and transfers – Rafinha Alcantara, Tosin Adarabioyo and Fikayo Tomori exit linked

Gordon admits goal and explains additional impact of new signings

Anthony Gordon admitted he was desperate to score his first Everton goal against Salford City on Wednesday, but is proud of the number of chances he has been able to create.

The youngster was one of his squad’s star players in the 3-0 win at Goodison Park to help the Blues advance to the League Cup third round, which sees them travel to Fleetwood Town on weekdays next.

Despite a number of big efforts on goal, including hitting the woodwork twice, the winger was unable to make it onto the scoresheet this time around – Michael Keane, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Moise Kean scoring the goals.

But Gordon is very happy with his performance regardless and is proud to create chances, including his assist for the second goal of the game.
