Europe – Mbappe to Liverpool – It’s not as far-fetched as you might think

The team reports tonight that at two years of his contract with PSG, France’s World Cup winner Kylian Mbappe has not yet considered an extension that would keep him in Paris.

The player himself has not made any statement suggesting his intention to leave the French capital either, but Real Madrid having been a dream destination for some time and with deep admiration for Jurgen Klopp’s work at Liverpool, Mbappe has always considered PSG as a springboard.

There are four other potential suitors, but he’s unlikely to be interested in a move to Barcelona as it could sabotage any plans he has to eventually become a Real Madrid player. Bayern Munich are unwilling to make nine-figure transfer deals unless it is presumably the seller, and Juventus have little appeal to the 21-year-old.

That leaves Manchester City, and although Mbappe holds Pep Guardiola in high regard, it is not an acceptable option for Qatar-owned PSG to sell one of their star players to a club owned by their Middle East rival. -East, United Arab Emirates.

Let us not forget that Zinedine Zidane wanted to sign Mbappe and Paul Pogba this summer only for the pandemic to strike. And Whites are convinced that Zidane’s presence as manager is too enticing a prospect for the youngster to refuse.

Real will be hoping to sign Mbappe next summer in the same way they pursued Chelsea’s Eden Hazard. Just 12 months away from his contract at Chelsea, Real moved in with an offer of € 100million and the deal was done.

But we must not send Liverpool away. In 2016, Klopp tried to convince Mbappe to come to Merseyside. And a year later, the club’s two American owners disembarked their private jet in Nice and had the Mbappe family on board as guests, trying to negotiate and convince the hottest property in French football to give up the French Riviera for Merseyside.

Liverpool, reigning Premier League champions and having won another European Cup since contacting Mbappe’s entourage began, have maintained a constant dialogue through Klopp.

It wouldn’t be the strangest thing in the world if the player made their way to the northwest of England, even though Madrid appear to be in pole position as it stands.

The other option of course is for him to stay at PSG, despite the sporting director, Leonardo being frustrated with the lack of progress so far in Mbappe’s contract extension.

But it looks like not everything is going well between the player and his current club. According to Receive French football news Luis Ferrer, a member of the PSG recruiting team is looking to leave. Ferrer has a long-standing relationship with the Mbappe family. He contributed to the player’s initial acquisition in 2017, and still regularly accompanies Mbappe’s father during French team matches.

Moreover, neither the club nor Mbappe himself have publicly denied the Sunday Times information from September 13, claiming the player will join Real Madrid. Maybe they were waiting for each other to take the lead.

PSG are also involved in the delicate management of what they hope will be an extension of Neymar’s contract alongside that of Mbappe and will not want to upset the ego of either star.
For Leonardo, playing for Brazil must have been a walk in the park in comparison.
