“I have pushed the limits a lot, several times in my life. “
When it comes to iconic careers, Drew Barrymore has literally done it all.
The former child star grew up to be one of the badass angels of the charlie’s angels series, has a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award, and now she’s the host of her own daytime talk show.
In a recent interview with CBS Sunday morning, the actor reflected on his time in the limelight, including once she flashed late-night talk show host David Letterman in 1995.
“I think if there’s one thing I’ve learned over a very long life in front of people, it’s that there is a line,” Drew said of the famous moment.
“There is TMI. And I kind of know what that line is, and that’s a feeling, ”she added.
When asked if she had spoken to Letterman or other hosts about how to get into her new gig, Drew replied, “All of the above, actually. They all say to beat you up. “
Later in the interview, Drew reflected on his tumultuous youth saying, “I’ve pushed the boundaries a lot, many times in my life. And I’m very lucky, I know that. I tested, I pushed, probably too far several times. “
“I at least tried to meet this blessing by having learned something,” she added.
This isn’t the first time the 45-year-old has spoken of flashing Letterman. In 2018, Drew told Stephen Colbert: “I sometimes think, ‘This is not like me.’ It’s like a distant memory that doesn’t look like me – but it’s me. And that’s pretty cool. ”
“I’m still down there with this. I am the mother of two children. I do not know. I’m such a different person now that it doesn’t look like me anymore, but I’m still in it, ”said with a smile.
