Donald Trump news: POTUS raises fears of constitutional violation with third re-election | World | News

The US president revealed his intention to also continue the 2024 election at a campaign event in Minden, Nevada. Addressing an enthusiastic crowd, he said, “In fifty-two days we’re going to win Nevada, and we’re going to win four more years in the White House.

“And then we’ll negotiate, right?”
“Because we’re probably – depending on how we’ve been treated – we’re probably entitled to four more after that.

Mr Trump had previously made similar remarks at a rally in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, last month.

He said, “We’re going to win four more years, then after that we’ll go another four years because they spied on my campaign.”

He added, “We should have a four-year overhaul. “

Critics have expressed concerns that the president may seriously consider serving for three terms, which would be outside constitutional limits.

According to the 22nd amendment, “no one can be elected president more than twice”.

However, in the past, Mr. Trump has pointed out that his remarks about serving more than two terms were a joke.

He said, “We have a debate in three weeks and here is the problem.

“Winston Churchill was a great debater.”

He added that if the Democratic candidate “steps off the stage, he will say this is the greatest debate he’s ever seen.”

Mr Trump added: “Winston Churchill was nothing compared to Sleepy Joe. “

In a new attack on Mr Biden, the president mentioned his son, Hunter Biden, in the speech, saying he “was using it is just an excuse to bring in super libs.”

Mr. Trump then took to Twitter to continue his attack on Mr. Biden.

He wrote: “Sleepy Joe Biden spent 47 years in politics being terrible for Hispanics.

“Now he’s counting on Castro’s lover Bernie Sanders to help him.

“It won’t work! Remember, the Cubans in Miami awarded me the very honored Bay of Pigs Award for everything I have done for our great Cuban people!
