Daniel Cormier respectfully refuses Jan Blachowicz’s appeal

New UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz doesn’t like Daniel Cormier’s assessment of him, and he’s made it known.During Monday’s episode of “DC and Helwani” on ESPN, Cormier slammed Jon Jones for expressing interest in a return to 205 pounds to fight Blachowicz after recently leaving the title, indicating that Jones may have left the division because he feared Dominick Reyes. In the middle of his explanation, Cormier also hinted that Jones would easily beat Blachowicz.

“Jones defeats Blachowicz. Too slow. (Blachowicz is) too slow to beat… because the thing about Jones, people don’t realize he’s got a good chin, ”Cormier said. “You can hit him. I hit him. Many of us hit him. He can take hits, man. If Jan Blachowicz is there and he’s too slow, Jones would separate him. If I was still fighting at 205 – or if I was still fighting today – and you said, “DC, you can fight Jan Blachowicz,” I would probably fight Jan Blachowicz. No disrespect. ”

But that’s exactly what Blachowicz saw – as a sign of disrespect – and he made it clear in a tweet to the recently retired former two-time UFC champion.

“Hi @dc_mma! If you have so much to say about me, get your fat ass off the couch and come to the Octagon, ”Blachowicz wrote. “I’ll teach you a little respect.”

Rather than engage further, Cormier took to the highways with a retweet.

“No chance for a champion, congratulations on a big win. You are the man! he wrote. “You are the king now, don’t worry about what a retired old man says. Great job to get this title!

Blachowicz issued one more answer and achieved peace with DC.

Okey, that’s cool. An Internet war is over :). #ChampsRespect

Blachowicz won the light heavyweight title last Saturday at UFC 253 with a dominant finish from Reyes in the second round. It was the fourth consecutive victory for the new champion, who includes Luke Rockhold, Ronaldo Souza and Corey Anderson.
