Jet2 has canceled all flights to mainland Spain and parts of Croatia for the remainder of the summer, it has been announced.
People will not be able to fly to tourist destinations like Alicante, Malaga, Barcelona, Dubrovnik or Split using the airline. Summer officially ends in the UK on September 22.
In a statement, the company said: “Due to the continued uncertainty caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as current advice from the UK government, we have made the difficult decision to suspend all flights and holidays at destination from mainland Spain (affecting Alicante, Malaga and Barcelona) and Dubrovnik and Split for the remainder of summer 2020.
“We are obviously very disappointed to make this announcement as we know how eagerly our customers are looking forward to their well-deserved vacations in these fantastic destinations. ”
The spokesperson said people will be able to book again without an administration fee, get a credit score or a full cash refund, and they are reaching out to customers to discuss those options.
They continued, “To give customers more choice when it comes to booking or rebooking their 2020 summer vacation, we recently announced hundreds of new flights to land destinations, representing almost 100,000 additional seats. .
“This demand tells us that customers want to get away from it all for their well-deserved vacation.
