Legault and Arruda must share the responsibility of the CHSLD fiasco, according to the Minister of Seniors

In an interview with Radio-Canada, Marguerite Blais, Minister of Seniors of Quebec, says that the director of public health Horacio Arruda, Prime Minister François Legault and former prime ministers must share the blame for the fiasco of the nursing homes of long duration which killed thousands of people.

Blais complained that she has limited power as a minister.

“It’s the Prime Minister who has the power,” she said. “He’s the one who decides the direction and what he wants to do with his government. So what does power mean?

Calling his comments “explosive”, Parti Québécois leader Pascal Bérubé wondered Thursday how long Blais would stay in Cabinet.
