Quebec reports 219 new cases – biggest jump since June
Quebec has registered 219 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 64,463, the provincial government announced this morning.
This is the biggest one-day increase since early June.
This is the third time in a week that Quebec has reported more than 200 cases.
The increase comes as the province ramps up screening. Quebec carried out a record number of tests on Wednesday – more than 26,000, the highest since September 3.
Three new deaths were reported but two were removed from the tally. The death toll is now 5,774.
Hospitalizations continue to increase.
