Coronation Street – Ian Bartholomew hints at Geoff’s downfall

Coronation Street Star Ian Bartholomew has hinted that a final appearance for evil Geoff Metcalfe may be getting closer.

Geoff recently lost his last ally when his son Tim finally saw his true nature, but he still remains a free man and has not faced the full consequences of his actions.

In a new discussion with the next issue of Interior soap – out Tuesday (Sep 22) – Ian opened up about the sequel for Geoff, hinting that justice may be getting closer.

“Now that Tim is in the picture, I think we have to see this as the beginning of the end for Geoff,” Ian told the magazine.

“The more he feels out of control, the less out of control he behaves – and I don’t think it’s going to end well, no matter what.

“We love to hate a bad guy and see someone like Geoff get his comeuppance, so I suspect he will.

“Let’s be honest – Geoff is going to get it!” “

Ian spoke to the magazine to tie in with his nominations for the 2020 Inside Soap Awards. He was shortlisted for Best Actor and Best Villain, while the dramatic moment when Geoff’s tormented wife Yasmeen, fought against him was nominated for best. Show-Stopper category.

Reflecting on the nods, Ian laughed, “This is all very exciting! Actors will always tell you that rewards don’t matter, until of course you are – and then they count for a lot!

“It is truly flattering and extremely rewarding to see your work recognized by other people, so I am happy and honored.
