Cold case: ice cream theft reported to Oak Bay Dairy Queen

VICTORIA – Oak Bay Police are investigating an aggressive, sweet-toothed person who allegedly broke into a local Dairy Queen over the weekend. Police said they first received information of the break-in on Sunday after a woman spotted a broken window at the business, located at 2013 Cadboro Bay Rd. She then spotted a planter strewn on the floor of the Dairy Queen.

“It was later confirmed that this was a break and enter and ice cream bars were stolen,” the Oak Bay Police Department said in a statement Monday.

Police said no one was inside the store at the time of the break-in, which allegedly took place around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday.

The agents add that “nothing other than ice cream bars was stolen”.

The investigation is ongoing and police say they are working to obtain a still photo of the person or persons responsible for the company’s surveillance cameras.
