Chinese virologist says she has proof COVID-19 was made in Wuhan lab

A Chinese virologist who allegedly went into hiding out of fear for her safety has once again stepped out into the public eye to explosively claim she has the scientific evidence to prove COVID-19 was man-made in a laboratory in China .Dr Li-Meng Yan, a scientist who claims to have done some of the earliest research on COVID-19 last year, made the comments Friday during an interview on the UK talk show “Loose Women”.

When asked where the deadly virus that has killed more than 900,000 people worldwide came from, Yan – speaking via video chat from a secret location – replied, “He’s from the lab – the Wuhan lab. and the laboratory are controlled by the Chinese government. . ”

She insisted that widespread reports that the virus originated last year from a wet market in Wuhan, China were “a smokescreen.”

“The first thing is [meat] market in Wuhan… is a smokescreen and this virus is not from nature, ”Yan said, explaining that she“ got her information from the CDC in China, local doctors ”.

The virologist has previously accused Beijing of lying about when it learned of the killer virus’s existence and engaged in a vast cover-up of its work.

She had said that her former supervisors at the Hong Kong School of Public Health, a World Health Organization reference laboratory, silenced her when she sounded the alarm on human-to-human transmission in December of l ‘last year.

In April, Yan reportedly fled Hong Kong and fled to America to raise awareness about the pandemic.

Now, she said she plans to release scientific evidence to prove the virus was made in a Wuhan lab.

“The genome sequence is like a human fingerprint,” she told the talk show. “So on that basis, you can identify these things. I use the evidence… to tell people why it came from the lab in China, why only they did it.

Yan added, “Anyone, even if you have no knowledge of biology, you can read it, and you can check and identify and check for yourself. ”

“It is the essential thing for us to know the origin of the virus,” she said. “Otherwise, we cannot overcome it – it will put everyone’s life in danger.”

She said she was dating now because “I know if I don’t tell the world the truth, I’ll be sorry. ”

Yan also claimed that before fleeing China, his information was erased from government databases.

“They deleted all my information,” she told “Loose Women”, saying people had been recruited “to spread rumors about me, that I am a liar”.

Yuan Zhiming, director of the Wuhan Institute of Virology, previously denied reports that the bug had accidentally spread from its establishment.

“There is no way this virus could come from us,” Zhiming told state media in April.
