The Waterloo Region District School Board confirmed the case on September 21.

A notice on the school’s website said the student had not been in the building since September 14.

Public health officials have not identified any high-risk school contacts, the advisory says.

“We will continue to follow instructions from Public Health and provide further updates as necessary,” the notice partially states.

The WRDSB also confirmed three cases in Kitchener students on Monday. The council confirmed a case in Elmira on Sunday.

The Catholic school board has reported a case in a student.

The Waterloo region has seen an increase in cases this month, from 42 active cases on September 1 to more than 110 on September 21. The total number of cases in the region has exceeded 1,600.
