BTS had an uplifting, disco-influenced sound program with their English-language single, “Dynamite,” but the K-Pop group’s backing album will pivot in a different direction.Alongside their performance at the 2020 iHeartRadio Music Festival, RM, Jin, Suck, J-Hope, Jimin, V,and Jungkook sat down for an interview with KIIS FM JoJo Wright from Korea and revealed that their next album is still in progress. “It’s going to be a little different from the single, so stay tuned,” RM admitted of the project, which is slated to end before the end of the year. This will serve as a July follow-up Soul Map: 7 – The Journey.

As “Dynamite” exploded to the top of the Billboard Hot 100, the septet admitted that the year hadn’t been all positive on their end. “So 2020 has been a pretty tough year for so many people, including us, JoJo, a lot of people,” RM confessed, before admitting that the gloom of the pandemic is what prompted the group to create “ Dynamite “in the first place.” We too felt desperate, to be honest with you, so we needed a that and focus on what we can do best and that was the music and the performance. We thought the world needed simple, positive energy to vibrate, so we’re putting some momentum into it. “
