BROOKSIDE and Home Free star Anna Norbury has died aged 26.
The actress, who played Alice Farnham on the Merseyside soap opera from 1994 to 1997, died suddenly on September 7.
Michael Starke, Anna’s former Brookside co-star, who played Thomas ‘Sinbad’ Sweeney, paid tribute on Twitter, writing: “Today we say goodbye to Anna Norbury.
“She was ‘Baby Alice Farnham’ at Brookside. She was one of the most valuable and beautiful young members of the cast. Love and strength for his wonderful family. ”
The 26-year-old appeared on Channel 4’s Home Free with her fiancé Joe, a documentary that follows people with disabilities as they move into supportive apartments in search of independence.
Anna’s aunt Katharine also spoke fondly of her niece on social media, telling her followers, “Anna Kate Norbury who won the hearts of millions as Alice Farnham in Brookside and more recently in the Channel 4 documentary Home Free with her boyfriend Joe, with whom she was about to start an independent life has died at the age of 26.
The heartbroken mum of the late star, Maria, placed an obituary in the Telegraph after Anna’s death.
She wrote: “She will be remembered for her warmth, her wit, her clarity, her frankness, and above all for her beautiful and innocent humanity.
“Anna may have been born with special needs, but she was so special and unique in herself that we were the ones who needed her.
“Her smile lit up the world of everyone who had the chance to meet her. Our loss is greater than we can ever tell. “

The time the Farnham family spent on the soap opera was filled with domestic drama as Father Max was caught between ex Susannah and his wife Patricia.
Ultimately, Patricia fled to France with children Alice and Thomas, before Max was shaken by tragedy when Anna’s on-screen half-siblings, Matthew and Emily, died in a tragic car crash. .
