British Columbia 2020 voter registration by phone or online ends Saturday

If you still need to register to vote in the 2020 British Columbia provincial election, Saturday, September 26 is your last chance to do so online or by phone.After the Saturday night deadline, voters will still be able to register at their polling station, but Elections BC says the process is taking longer.

The agency says early registration will speed up the voting process and help reduce queues at polling stations – a key goal, given the COVID-19 pandemic.

Voters will also be able to request a mail-in voting kit after Saturday.

However, if they are not registered or their information is out of date, Elections BC says they will need to take additional steps – including providing copies of their ID – to fill out their ballot.

Voters can register:

  • by calling 1-800-661-8683 until 8 p.m. PT on Saturday, September 26
  • online at elections.bc.ca/ovr until 11:59:59 p.m. PT on Saturday, September 26

Election day is October 24.
