Black Panther stars join Chadwick Boseman’s wife and family at private memorial


Family, friends and co-stars gathered in Malibu on Sunday to say goodbye to Chadwick Boseman after his tragic death after the star lost his secret battle with cancer.The Black Panther star was just 43 when he died last month after a four-year battle with colon cancer which he has kept a secret from his co-stars and fans.

Marvel artists including Lupita Nyong’o, Michael B. Jordan and Winston Duke were among those who joined the actor’s family in a private ceremony in Malibu, Calif., This weekend.

Chadwick’s grieving wife, singer Taylor Simone Ledward, was also at the ceremony, which took place outdoors in bright sunshine.

A memorial for Chadwick Boseman was held Sunday in Malibu, Calif.

Details of the memorial service were reported to include a tabletop display with a photograph of the deceased actor.

Flowers were also reportedly arranged around tables at the memorial site which overlooked the ocean.

While photographs from the private event showed Chadwick’s wife being comforted by her co-stars.

The entertainment world was shocked on August 28 when news of Chadwick’s death broke.

A statement was released by his family via their social media accounts in which it was revealed that he had lost a long battle with the disease.

The statement revealed: “Chadwick was diagnosed with stage III colon cancer in 2016 and has battled it for the past 4 years as he progressed to stage IV. ⁣

Co-stars, musicians, directors and politicians were among the high profile stars to share the shock, sorrow and tributes in the wake of the tragic news.

While news last week revealed that Disney had put plans for a Black Panther sequel on ice after the sad news of Chadwick’s death.
