Behind-the-Scenes Update on Match Switch to Clash of Champions Launch Show

– As previously reported, tonight’s WWE Clash of Champions 2020 event appears to be in disarray as major last minute changes are made to the event. As noted, Nikki Cross vs. Bayley matches and the women’s tag team title would not be on the agenda, as Nikki Cross and women’s tag team champions Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler are all out of the show and not behind the scenes for tonight. PWInsider has an update with news on some additional changes to tonight’s show.As noted, the Raw women’s title match featuring Asuka vs. Zelina Vega is expected to be moved to the launch show’s main pay-per-view card. As a result, this left the kickoff show without a TV match. Due to the last-minute scrambling and mayhem, SmackDown’s Tag Team Title game with Cesaro and Shinsuke Nakamura defending their titles against Lucha House Party would move to the launch show.

WWE was announcing SmackDown’s Tag Team Title match for the main Clash of Champions which aired earlier today via Twitter, which you can see below. At 7:30 a.m. EST, Asuka vs Vega was still announced for kickoff:

WWE has yet to make any announcements or confirmations on the changes to the card, and the launch show is expected to begin in about an hour at 6:00 p.m. EST.
