Lovecraft Country star Jonathan Majors is said to be heading into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and he could play one of the most iconic Marvel villains of all time. Deadline reports that Majors have signed on to play a major villain character in the third Ant-Man movie. According to Deadline’s source, that villain may be none other than Kang the Conqueror. Little is known about the untitled sequel at this point, though director Peyton Reed is expected to return with Paul Rudd as Scott Lang. and Michael Douglas as Dr Hank. Pym. We recently learned that Rick and Morty writer Jeff Loveness has started script writing and production is slated to begin in 2021 (barring delays caused by the coronavirus).
Assuming Deadline’s source is correct, this cast might give us a better idea of the plot of the sequel and the broader direction of the MCU in Phase 4. Kang the Conqueror is widely considered one of the most great enemies of the Avengers. A great time traveler who goes by many other names (including Immortus, Rama-Tut, and Scarlet Centurion), Kang uses his cutting-edge technology to become the ruler of a distant future Marvel Universe. We’ve already speculated on Avengers: Endgame part may have set the stage for Kang’s Phase 4 debut. This film is heavily about time travel and the Avengers ‘struggle to undo Thanos’ act of cosmic genocide, opening the door to more of time. conflicts in the MCU. And while Kang isn’t a character normally associated with Ant-Man, the fact that Quantum Realm technology and Ant-Man’s Pym Particle were used as the basis for time travel makes the villain a natural addition to the mix in the game. next movie. However, with Kang taking Ant-Man 3 into account, we doubt this will be a one-off role for the Majors. Kang is a character who has fought against and alongside the Avengers and other superhero teams numerous times, and he’s a prime candidate to become the next Thanos-level MCU villain.
