Another Toronto bar closes due to rent hike amid coronavirus pandemic


Another one that bites the dust! A bar in Toronto has succumbed to the pressure of the pandemic and is closing its doors due to rising rents.I’ll see you… bar, at 747 Queen Street East, posted news of its closure on their Instagram.

The bar officially closes its doors on October 24.

“These five years have been incredible with ups and downs and everything in between. With a big rent increase imminent, an uncooperative landlord combined with Covid, we have decided to close the doors, ”the bar said on their Instagram page.

“Thank you to everyone who came through the doors and really understood us, from our atmosphere to our menu and our decoration. We will truly treasure and miss all the great memories we had together.

The Queen Street bar is just one of many restaurants in Toronto that have struggled and closed due to the looming pandemic.

SoSo Food Club has decided to close its doors, as well as The Office Pub which made the difficult decision to say goodbye to Toronto following lease issues with its owner.

The list of restaurant and bar closures continues to grow as the pandemic continues.
