Sushant Singh Rajput, 34, was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on June 14. Mumbai Police said it was a suicide and had investigated whether he was suffering from depression and felt offended by insiders and cliques in the film industry.
More than a month later, Sushant Singh Rajput’s father, KK Singh, lodged a complaint in Bihar accusing his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and his family of financially cheating on his son, mentally harassing him and driving him to the suicide.
Bihar police complaint led to CBI and Law Enforcement (ED) investigations into the actor’s financial situation and his father’s complaint that crores were withdrawn of his account. Allegations of drug abuse revealed by the emergency service also triggered an investigation by the BCN.
Rhea Chakraborty, who was arrested earlier this month along with her brother and several others in the drug case, has denied the charges against Sushant Singh’s father. She was described by the NCB as “an active member of a drug union” and accused of organizing drugs for Sushant Singh Rajput.
The CBI and the ED, however, have not arrested anyone so far and it remains clear whether they have uncovered any evidence to support the claims of Sushant Singh Rajput’s family against Rhea Chakraborty, including those involving ” suspicious transactions’ worth Rs 15 crore.
