2 killed and 2 injured in 2 vehicle crash on Spruce Meadows Trail in Calgary – Calgary

Two people were killed and two were injured after a two-vehicle crash in Calgary on Monday, police said.Officers responded to a head-on collision between a pickup truck and a sedan at James Mckevitt Road SW and Spruce Meadows Trail SW after 6:30 p.m.

Two passengers in the car – a man and a woman, both elderly – were pronounced dead at the scene, EMS said.

Due to the injuries to the driver of the car and the time it took to get it out, EMS said the rare call was made for STARS Air Ambulance to respond within city limits. The woman in her 30s was airlifted to hospital in critical, potentially fatal condition, EMS said.

The driver of the truck, a man in his 40s, was taken to hospital in serious but stable condition, EMS said.
