Bullet Bob Armstrong, Hall of Fame wrestler and patriarch of the Armstrong family, has died aged 80.

Armstrong’s son ‘Road Dogg’ Brian James posted the unfortunate news on Twitter Thursday night:

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our Father and Hall of Fame @WWE “Bullet” Bob Armstrong. Information regarding funeral arrangements will come at a later date.

‘Bullet Bob’ was born Joseph Melton James on October 3, 1939. His professional wrestling career spanned five decades and was elected to the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011. His four sons, Joseph (Scott Armstrong), Robert ( Brad Armstrong)), Steve and Brian have become wrestlers themselves.

Our condolences to the James family at this time.
