Chelsea winger Willian has told close friends he turned down a big offer from Inter Miami because he wanted to join Arsenal.

The Brazilian is out of contract at Stamford Bridge and the club have yet to offer him the three-year contract he has been dreaming of.

Willian, 31, has received a number of offers around the world, including a lucrative Inter Miami from David Beckham.

However, according to the Mirror, Willian told close friends that he turned down a pay raise to move to Florida because he wanted to join Mikel Arteta’s arsenal.

Willian is settled in London and does not want to uproot his young family, who played Arsenal’s game.

The Gunners are ready to give Willian a three-year contract with a salary of £ 120,000 a week, although the Brazilian has asked for the option of a fourth year.

Willian’s agent Kia Joorabchian has a good relationship with the Gunners and is negotiating the deal for the winger’s move to London.

Once Willian comes through the gate, Arsenal will focus their efforts on signing Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey.

The Ghanaian has a £ 45million release clause in his contract but Arsenal are unwilling to activate it as they would rather agree on a lower price and include Matteo Guendouzi in a deal.

Partey is keen to move to London, but Atletico are desperate for him to sign a new deal to remove the release clause from his contract.
