Weather in Kent for Sunday is expected to see temperatures reach 30C


Kent is ready for another scorching day today – and even warmer temperatures on Monday.The period of fine weather saw thousands of people flock to the county’s beaches with highs reaching 35C on Saturday.

Forecasters are now saying the heatwave will continue today with highs of 30C expected across the county – and that it could get even hotter on Monday and Tuesday.

It will look a bit cooler along the coast, however.

Yesterday Manston in Thanet was named one of the sunniest places in the country with temperatures not dropping below 24C from 9am to midnight and highs of 32C from 2pm to 5pm.

And there is no immediate respite from the heat.

The Met Office says it expects the spike in temperatures to last until at least Thursday.

But he warns there could be thunderstorms early in the week, with yellow weather warnings in effect Monday through Wednesday.
