The 24-year-old has scored 26 goals in 47 appearances and is reportedly on Villa’s radar in the transfer window.
Watkins was reportedly available for £ 18million due to a clause in his contract triggered when Brentford lost in the play-off final to Fulham.
But he is likely to make around £ 25million with a number of top clubs interested in a deal.
According to Sky Sports, Watkins is keen to reunite with Villa head coach Dean Smith if the opportunity arises.
As the manager of Brentford, Smith signed Watkins from Exeter City three years ago and helped oversee its development before being appointed to Villa Park.
Reacting to the claim that Watkins is considering upgrading to B6, a Villa fan on social media said: “From the Ollie Watkins! ”
“Pay and stop messing around in my opinion,” wrote another.
A third posted: ‘Deal with Ollie Watkins: £ 20million upfront. + £ 2million if we avoid relegation. + 2 million pounds if it is capped for England. + 1 million pounds when he hits 50 goals. Here comes Villa, slap that on the table. . ”
“Come on @AVFCOfficial and announce Watkins,” said another supporter.
While a fifth added, “Alright, pay it. “
