Watch Dave Grohl accept Nandi Bushell’s drum and issue his new challenge

Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl accepted a drum challenge from Nandi Bushell, a 10-year-old musician known for her viral cover videos.Earlier this month (August 17), Bushell posted a drum cover of the band’s song “Everlong” on his YouTube page. In the video, she said, “Dave Grohl, I challenge you to drum.”

In the description of the video, the young musician wrote: “My dream is to someday play with Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins and all the @Foo Fighters! Mr. Grohl I would love to have a drumbeat with you! I LOVE Everlong, it’s really hard to play because it’s so fast but so much fun !!! ”

Now Grohl responded in a video shared on the Foo Fighters Twitter page. “Hi @Nandi_Bushell!” He captioned the post. ” Challenge accepted. I haven’t played these songs for a very long time… thanks for the inspiration !!! Your move !!! ”

In the video, Grohl made his way through part of “Everlong,” before addressing Bushell. “I haven’t played this song since the day I recorded it in 1997,” he says. “Our drummer Taylor Hawkins plays ‘Everlong’ for us every night. But Nandi, last week I got at least 100 texts from people all over the world saying, “This girl dares you to do a drum, what are you going to do?

“I’ve seen all your videos, I’ve seen you on TV. You are an amazing drummer. I’m really flattered that you picked some of my songs for your videos and performed them all perfectly. ”

Grohl then gave Bushell his own challenge: to nail the drum part in “Dead End Friends” by Them Crooked Vultures. “Now the ball is in your court,” he told her before drumming. Watch the video above now.

The Foo Fighters frontman’s challenge follows Kirk Hammett of Metallica congratulating Bushell on his cover of “Enter Sandman.” The 10-year-old recently shared a video of herself playing drums, bass and guitar on a cover of the song. “How could I not repost this?” Hammett wrote.

Earlier this year, the kid received a Fender Soul Power Stratocaster from Tom Morello after seeing his cover of “Guerilla Radio” from Rage Against The Machine. “I wish you had this guitar as a gift from me because you rock so well, and seeing someone so awesome who is so young, it really gives me hope for the future” , Morello told him.
