According to actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt, it will be video games – not feature films – that will advance storytelling in new and exciting ways. Appearing in the latest episode of Hot Ones, Gordon-Levitt said he sees more room for storytelling growth in video games than in film.“The future of storytelling will be video games,” he said. “I don’t think it’s going to be the filmmakers who figure out how to do that. But looks like the most revolutionary storytelling. The storytelling is completely different from anything we’ve seen before, I don’t think it will necessarily be in the form of a feature film. ”
Gordon-Levitt had nothing more to share on the subject, and even that response was interrupted by the actor shaking from the heat of the hot wings he was eating.
Gordon-Levitt runs a media company called HitRecord, and he’s partnered with Ubisoft on Beyond Good & Evil 2 and Watch Dogs Legion to allow people to create custom content for these games.
