Valerie Loureda remains undefeated, stops Tara Graff

UNCASVILLE, Connecticut – Valerie Loureda pursues her undefeated Bellator. The 22-year-old rising prospect scored a knockout against Tara Graff in the Bellator 243 preliminary card on Friday night. Loureda (3-0 MMA, 3-0 BMMA) claimed their first victory of 2020. The official save came at 5:00 am of the second set.

The arrival came after Loureda dropped Graff (1-2 MMA, 0-1 BMMA) with a right hook, then chained with the floor and the pound, forcing referee Mark Beltran to give up the fight.

The fight was a clean and calculated performance from Loureda. For most of the fight, Loureda circled outside the canvas, picked her shots, and avoided any exchange of grips.

It was towards the end of the second round that Loureda was able to open up more in his hitting, pressure and bigger shots, which resulted in the end-of-fight streak.

Loureda makes a successful comeback after 14 months out of competition. The US Top Team fighter was taken out of action due to an injury, an appearance on the reality show “Exatlon” and the ongoing pandemic that put the events of the Bellator on hold for a few months.

The flyweight bout was part of the Bellator 243’s preliminary card at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. He aired on MMA Junkie before a main card on Paramount and DAZN.
