President Donald Trump has said he plans to sign an executive order banning TikTok as early as Saturday, according to many journalists he spoke with Air Force One on Friday evening.
The popular music and dance app is one of several Chinese companies that the Trump regime claims routes user data to the Chinese government, a claim that has not been substantiated. Trump was threatening to ban TikTok for weeks now, but no one can guess if he decides to do it. This man says a lot stuff … and some of its promises don’t last longer than the average TikTok.
Earlier on Friday, the New York Times reported this Microsoft is in talks buy the app, allegedly valued to $ 100 billion, as the federal review intensifies. A spokesperson for TikTok told Gizmodo at the time that they “do not comment on rumors or speculation” but are “confident in the long term success of TikTok”.
