Donald Trump has threatened to sue the state of Nevada for what he calls an “illegal late night coup” in which the state government decided he would send out election ballots American 2020 to all its residents.
The president tweeted that the move would prevent Republicans from securing electoral victories.
“In an illegal late night coup, the governor of the Nevada clubhouse made it impossible for Republicans to win the state,” Mr. Trump wrote. “The post office could never handle the mail traffic without preparation. Use Covid to rob the state. See you soon in court! “

Mr Trump has previously claimed that removing barriers to voting hurts Republicans’ electoral chances.
Earlier this year, Mr Trump said he rejected a Democrat-developed version of the CARES law in part because it would have removed significant barriers to voting and, in his opinion, would have ensured Republican election losses. .
“The things they had in there were crazy. They had things, voting levels that if you ever accepted it, you’d never have an elected Republican in this country again, ”Mr. Trump said in an interview with Fox News.
Mr. Trump’s suggestion that the USPS cannot handle the volume of an election by mail may be correct, but its failure to do so is partly the fault of the presidential administration.
His Twitter explosion isn’t the first time he has mocked Nevada for a postal vote.
In May, Mr. Trump also complained when the state sent out primary election ballots. He claimed state lawmakers were trying to “cheat” and threatened to withhold federal funding in retaliation.
Mr Trump criticized postal voting, suggesting it would lead to high levels of voter fraud. Election experts argued that if there is a slightly higher risk of fraud, security measures can mitigate the risk.
The president – along with many of his family and collaborators – has voted by mail in the past. However, he said what he was doing was different because it was a “mail ballot” as opposed to a mail vote.
Mr Trump says absentee voting is different – and acceptable – because it requires a voter to request a ballot, rather than automatically receiving one in the mail.
“A person has to go through a process to get them and use them. Postal voting, on the other hand, will lead to the most corrupt election in US history, ”Mr. Trump tweeted.
Voting rights experts have argued that there is essentially no difference between postal voting and postal voting.
