The movie star recently resumed filming of Mission Impossible 7 and 8 at Warner Bros. Studios in Leavesden, Hertfordshire.

Filming could restart after the UK government gives the green light to production, with filmmakers being exempted from certain quarantine rules.

Tom reportedly discussed the logistics of the shoot with Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden during a video chat.

The government said it would issue guidelines allowing a “small number” of key actors and teams to travel to the UK without having to quarantine themselves for 14 days.

Rather, those who are exempt will have to live and work in controlled “bustling” environments, such as film locations, during the same period.

“The world’s biggest blockbusters and premium TV shows are made in Britain,” said Dowden, nodding to the seventh and eighth installments of the blockbuster spy films set in Hertfordshire.

He said, “Our creativity, expertise and very successful tax breaks for our film industries mean that we are a place in demand which, in turn, provides a great return for our economy.

“We want the industry to rebound and exempting a small number of key players and teams from quarantine as part of our continued commitment to get the cameras rolling again safely,” said the British politician.

The exemption applies to people coming to England specifically to work on film and television productions labeled as British, the government said.

Adrian Wootton, managing director of the British Film Commission, added that the news was a “clear recognition of the importance of the foreign investment sector in high-end film and television to the UK economy”.

He said: ‘The sector was worth over £ 3bn in 2019 and has a clear role to play in our economic recovery from the lockdown. “

Tom revealed in January of last year that the next two Mission: Impossible action movies will be released in summer 2021 and summer 2022.

However, filming for Mission: Impossible 7, which will star British actor Simon Pegg, had to be put on hold in Italy in February due to coronavirus fears.

The action star was recently spotted practicing his motocross skills and piloting a helicopter in the Oxfordshire countryside.

The films focus on Agent Ethan Hunt, played by Tom, and will be directed by Christopher McQuarrie, who previously worked on Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation and Mission: Impossible – Fallout in 2018.
