Tiger Woods’ 11-year-old son wins junior golf tournament

Woods’ son took part in a US Kids Golf sanctioned event at Hammock Creek Golf Club in Palm City, Fla. This weekend – and he dominated the competition.

Charlie beat all the boys in the 11-year-old category, shooting three under 33s on nine holes while finishing with three birdies. He beat the second place finisher by 5 strokes.

Woods, 44, was in attendance and he could be seen in photos shared on social media acting as Charlie’s caddy during parts of the event, carrying his bag of clubs between rounds.

This is not the first time Woods Sr. has been pictured shopping for his son. In January, video surfaced of Charlie hitting balls on a training ground ahead of a junior tournament in Florida, with his father behind him. The video, taken remotely, has sparked social media.

Last month Woods told GolfTV that “it was really great to go out there and just, you know, to be with him.”

“He’s starting to figure out how to play. He’s asking me the right questions, ”Woods said. “I kept him competitive with his peer. ”

He also supplemented his son, noting “I would have liked to have had his move. ”

Woods shares two children – Charlie and Sam, 13 – with his ex-wife Elin Nordegren, whom he divorced in 2010.
