Cincinnati Reds broadcaster Thom Brennaman used a gay insult in Game 1 of Wednesday’s doubles game against the Kansas City Royals.

The moment came when the Fox Sports Ohio show returned from a commercial break during the seventh inning. As the game readied to resume, a spontaneous Brennaman said, “one of the f… capitals of the world.”
During the fifth inning of the second match of Twin Bill, Brennaman apologized for his remarks, stating, “I don’t know if I’m going to put this helmet back on,” before handing over play-by-play functions to the rest of the contest to Jim Day.

Major League Baseball is aware of the incident but has not commented, according to the Associated Press.
