The Los Angeles Dodgers and Texas Rangers meet in interleague action in an MLB game at Globe Life Field on Sunday.
The Los Angeles Dodgers will look to build on a 7-4 win over the Rangers on Saturday. Max Muncy led the way, going 2 for 4 with a home run of three, a double and a total of four RBIs. Cody Bellinger added a two-run home run and AJ Pollock and Mookie Betts each scored a brace. Corey Seager, Chris Taylor and Matt Beaty each had a hit to complete the Dodgers’ offense in the win. Ross Stripling allowed three runs on four hits while suppressing three of four innings of work, regardless of the decision. Blake Treinen took the win to move to 3-1 while Kenley Jansen closed things off for his 9th save. Tony Gonsolin will start here and is 0-0 with a 0.00 ERA and 12 strikeouts this season. This will be Gonsolin’s first career start against Texas.Get our best expert bets for ALL GAMES
The Texas Rangers will look to bounce back from their loss to the Dodgers on Saturday. Ronald Guzman went 3 for 3 with a solo home run and a double while Leody Taveras had a solo shot and Shin-Soo Choo also had an RBI in the lost effort. Todd Frazier belted a triple while Isiah Kiner-Falefa, Joey Gallo and Nick Solak all had hits in the losing effort. Lance Lynn took the loss, falling to 4-1 on the year after allowing three runs on five hits while suppressing six in six innings of work. Kyle Gibson starts here and is 1-3 with a 5.73 ERA and 26 strikeouts this season. This will be Gibson’s second career start against the Dodgers.
Los Angeles are 8-2 in their last 10 games against AL West and 21-6 in their last 27 road games, while the Plus are 5-2-1 in their last 8. Sunday matches. Texas are 2-10 in their last 12 total games and 1-5 in their last 6 games against NL West, while the Most are 5-1 in their last 6 tie-breakers as than outsider. Los Angeles are 5-1 in the last 6 meetings between these two teams.
It’s a lot of juice to give up with the Dodgers down the road, especially with a veteran like Gibson heading to Texas. However, the Rangers, just as I had them hooked on the corner and potentially upset, went back to their old ways and just couldn’t avoid leaving the set, and if Lance Lynn couldn’t, I hard to think that Gibson is going to be the guy all of a sudden. Tony Gonsolin has been rock solid for the Dodgers, not allowing a 14.2 innings run over three starts and I think we see another strong performance from Gonsolin and the Dodgers here. Give me Los Angeles on the start line in this one.
