The Kamloops Fire Department tells Castanet that the Solco Creek fire is now classified, “as detained.”
The firefighting crews fought the blaze all day and managed to establish a firewall with the help of the helicopters working the fire from the air.
The fire remains at 13.80 hectares, however, crews will continue to work on site until the fire is completely extinguished.
The Solco Creek wildfire remains at 13.80 hectares, according to the BC Wildfire Service’s online mapping tool.
The fire, discovered on July 30, is currently underway. It is located east of Okanagan Falls and approximately 27 kilometers northeast of Oliver.
