Last week, the official Smashing Pumpkins website was updated with a series of six different countdown clocks. The oldest was for today and the latest is for 90 days from now – the rest is every few weeks. Today, they unveiled what that first clock was counting towards: two new songs. One is called “Cyr” and the other is “The color of love”. The band have confirmed that a new album is on the way, featuring Billy Corgan, James Iha, Jimmy Chamberlin and Jeff Schroeder.“’Cyr’ is dystopian madness. A soul against the world in a way, against a backdrop of shifting loyalties and accelerating time, ”Corgan said in a press release. “To me this represents both hope and contempt for what is and is not possible with faith.
The Smashing Pumpkins released something in 2018 called Shiny And Oh So Bright, Vol. 1 / LP: No Past. No future. No sun. Even though it was billed as a reunion album at the time, in February Corgan said it was not a reunion album at all and that a real reunion album – a double album, actually – was in the works.

“Cyr” and “The Color Of Love” are now available via Sumerian.
