These areas include the Czech capital Prague, the Austrian capital Vienna and the United Kingdom, Tayside in Scotland and the North West region of England.
Slovakia will also ban outdoor events with more than 1,000 people and indoor events with more than 500 people from the beginning of September, and internal events must end before 11 p.m.
Children in fifth grade and high school students will be required to wear face masks in schools during the first two weeks of the school year, which begins September 1. Younger children should wear them in common areas of schools and pre-school facilities.
