Significant increase in COVID-19 cases province wide, only one new diagnosis in Van Isle

NANAIMO – A notable rise in COVID-19 cases in the province has been announced on the eve of a long weekend in the middle of summer.

A joint statement from the province revealed 50 new cases of COVID-19 province-wide, including a new positive diagnosis in the island’s health region for a total of 144.

Province-wide, there are 3,641 COVID-19 cases and one new death for a total of 195.

There are currently 278 active cases of COVID-19, a large increase from the 242 active cases reported the previous day.
